Day 1 – Leaving SG, heading for HK

After weeks of training, our SAP Ambassadors are ready for Hong Kong!

The Ambassadors gathered at Shuqun Primary School before setting off for Changi Airport. Everyone was in high spirits, though some were a little sad to leave their families for a week. However, all SAP Ambassadors are aware that this short separation will help to build up their confidence as well as their independence.

At Changi Airport, our Vice-Principal, Mdm Seah, presented the ambassador badges to all our Ambassadors. The presentation signified a great moment for these Shuqunites as they officially became ambassadors of the school.

After a 4-hour flight, we touched down in Hong Kong! Although we were greeted by a drizzle of rain, it didn’t dampen the mood of the team. We enjoyed our Indian-theme dinner and our eyes were dazzled with the laser show of the Symphony of Lights. Not forgetting the fun and cheeky photo shoots at the Avenue of Stars!

Now, we have to turn in early for the next BIG thing happening tomorrow – Disneyland Hong Kong!

Greetings, SAP 2012!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the 2012 version of Student Ambassador Programme (SAP)!

We will be constantly updating the blog as we count down to our visit to the Pearl of the Orient – Hong Kong!

In July 2012, we had the opportunity to host our friends from Saint Francis of Assisi’s English Primary School (SFAEPS) and they had a great time in Singapore. Next week, more than 20 Shuqunites and teachers will spend 7 days in Hong Kong, visiting places of interests as well as meeting our friends from SFA. We really miss them!

So keep yourself glued to this blog for new blog entries, photos or even videos!

See ya!

Day 6 & 7: It’s a wrap!

On Day 6 of our Hong Kong trip, SFA hosted a farewell dinner for the Student Ambassadors and The SAP Hong Kong (SFA) Team. The parents of our SFA buddies, plus the SFA school staff, joined us too. After dinner, we have little interaction games as well as a camp fire to end the night. I believe it’s the 1st time the Student Ambassadors had a campfire under the cool 15 degree weather!

Soon, it was the final day in Hong Kong. We gathered once again at SFA’s school hall, where all gathered to wish one another farewell. It was a joyous event, as all of us enjoyed our stay in Hong Kong and treasured the friendship bonds over the past 7 days.

The SAP Hong Kong (SFA) Team would like to thank the following:

- The SFA school management committee, teachers, Parents Support Group and staff for their hospitality,

- the SFA pupils and their parents for hosting our Student Ambassadors,

- GStar Travel and their Hong Kong counterparts for their good service rendered to us,

- Parents of our Student Ambassadors who supported the SAP programme and The SAP Hong Kong (SFA) Team,

- and lastly, SQPS school management committee, teachers and staff who are involved in the SAP Hong Kong (SFA).

This blog will be updated occasionally, with the latest news and journal articles from our Shuqunites. Do come back and have a look!

See you in 2012, SFA!
